Objects with
intention

Growing up in Northern Norway in a family of goldsmiths, I spent a lot of time in the workshop trying to make jewellery. That early obsession with material and making shaped how I think about objects what they're built from, how they hold together, and whether they last.

My work is defined by a calm and considered design language. I am drawn to clean structures, honest materials, and a strong sense of form.

I am especially interested in the space between craft and technology, designing objects that feel intuitive, refined, and lasting.

Split is a side table and stool concept exploring how a single structural idea can define an entire object. A narrow divide runs through both the tabletop and the leg structure, letting light and air pass through the form and creating a lightweight presence despite its material weight.

Held together with powder-coated metal bolts, the concept is explored across several configurations: fully powder-coated aluminium, brushed aluminium, wooden tabletop, and upholstered seat. A core part of the design process was finding a form neutral enough to carry an unlimited range of color and material combinations, each shifting the character of the object while the structure stays the same.

Inclina is a sculptural laptop stand that explores the balance between work and rest, craft and technology. It rests flat when not in use and gently tilts when a laptop is placed inside, shifting the centre of gravity and setting the object into motion.

A recessed bowl is suspended from the stand and self-balances in response to the tilt, always remaining level. The object never settles into a fixed state it finds its own equilibrium. Warm walnut and hand-finished steel sit alongside this quietly mechanical behaviour. The prototype was exhibited during Milano Design Week 2025. Selected as the winning project in the Lenovo × Rivatelier collaboration.

Structa

Structa explores how eyewear design reflects culture, craftsmanship, and history. Drawing on a background in jewelry making, where architectural forms and precise detailing were central, the sunglasses translate those sculptural qualities into wearable design.

The model was 3D-printed using a cellulose acetate filament from the Zestep Project, developed to reuse waste from traditional acetate manufacturing. Selected as a finalist for the international Sergio Cereda Design Award.

Fondere is an eyewear concept inspired by winter landscapes and the way snow softens form and light over time. The design explores fluid transitions where lens and frame merge into a single, continuous surface.

The gentle wrap of the frame provides protection from light while remaining integrated and understated. The project explores how eyewear can balance performance, responsibility, and personal experience in a restrained and enduring form.

Developed for the Sergio Cereda Design Award.

Sfera is a sculptural lamp inspired by the cyclical relationship between light, form, and movement. Composed of rotating CNC-milled metal discs, the lamp allows light to be revealed or concealed through a simple gesture.

Touch-sensitive activation and integrated wireless charging merge subtle technology with expressive form. Sfera explores lighting as an interactive and emotional experience, transforming everyday illumination into something quiet, tactile, and atmospheric.

Developed for the Design Wanted Magazine "Rethink Table Lamp" open call competition.

Radice

Radice is a bed design drawing inspiration from the organic movement of branches and the sculptural warmth of solid wood. Smooth walnut curves, rounded edges, and a seamlessly integrated adjustable backrest give the piece a calm, grounded presence.

Named after the Italian word for root, Radice centres around a unified leg system that forms the visual and structural foundation of the design. This element is adaptable across different bed sizes, creating a modular framework that extends naturally into a wider furniture collection.

Concept developed for the Porada Design Award.

Kart

Kart is a modular public seating system designed to bring flexibility and clarity to shared and transit environments. Built around a single design language, the system allows multiple configurations while maintaining a consistent structural identity.

The collection consists of two seat types: a solid seat available in plastic, leather, or wood, and a frame seat where leather or fabric is wrapped around an open steel structure. Combined with a stool, bench, and two table formats, the system achieves maximum modularity across a range of spatial configurations.

The project focuses on how people actually move, wait, and interact in shared environments. By allowing seating to shift between linear arrangements, clusters, and open formations, Kart supports both individual use and social interaction without imposing hierarchy.

Lacunare draws inspiration from the coffered ceiling of the Pantheon a structure where geometry is not decoration, but the logic that holds everything together. Each recess defined by what surrounds it. Each edge made meaningful by shadow.

The collection translates this into a complete furniture system: a modular sofa, armchair with pouf, a one-seater pouf, and a coffee table. Every frame is upholstered in leather using traditional Italian selleria stitching a craft in which the seam is never hidden, but becomes the line that defines the form. Structure and ornament are the same gesture, as in the Pantheon.

Concept developed for the Fendi Design Prize 2026.

Guksi

Guksi draws on old Sámi handcraft, creating an object that exists between traditions: not a reinterpretation, but a quiet conversation. Entirely hand-carved from a birch burl, with a handle of reindeer horn and recycled silver, the form follows the material: each cup shaped by what the wood allows.

Traditionally, the Guksi is a personal object belonging to the Sámi, an indigenous people of the Nordic north, carried and worn over time. Growing up close to the culture inspired this modern interpretation of the old handcraft methods: familiar and foreign at once.

Prototyping for Alessi

Prototyping a vase design for a university project in collaboration with Alessi. Getting to design something and actually show it to them feels like a genuine childhood dream coming true. Alessi was probably the first design company I ever noticed as a kid, and the way they've stayed true to quality and production while still doing crazy, interesting work is endlessly inspiring. Hoping to design something for them for real one day.

Prototyping Fondere

Early prototype stage for Fondere. Started with the raw printed pieces to check the proportions before anything got assembled or finished, then moved on to the fully formed shape to see how it actually sits and reads as a pair of glasses.

Silver Bracelet with Lapis Lazuli

Made a silver bracelet for my girlfriend, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. Blending the deep blue of lapis lazuli with cold silver felt like exactly the right match.

3D Printing Kart, and a Paint Mishap

Made a few 3D printed models of Kart. Happy with the result, though I left the paint to dry without realizing the sun would swing round and hit it, so a couple of the seats got a bit cooked in the process.

Paper Prototype: Sustainable Climbing Chalk Packaging

A quick paper prototype for the Procarton competition. I'd been thinking about how much plastic climbing chalk usually comes in, so I tried designing my way around it: a carton with a perforated grid you shake chalk straight out of. No separate chalk bag needed, which felt like the whole point.

Inclina Update: Top 3 and Off to Milano Design Week

Last time I talked about Inclina, I was about to present it to the jury. Happy to say I was chosen as one of the top 3, which means it's now being made in wood, and it'll be exhibited at Milano Design Week 2025. Super stoked about this.

Prototyping Inclina for Lenovo × Rivatelier

Decided to throw my hat in for the Lenovo × Rivatelier competition. The brief was an accessory for a Lenovo laptop, to be made by Rivatelier. Once I'd landed on a design, I printed a 1:1 scale model to make sure it actually worked and to use for the presentation itself. Really happy with how the print turned out, and honestly relieved the tilting mechanism worked first try. Let's see what the jury says...

3D Printing the Structa Prototype

Only had four days to design, print, and render this: a PLA 3D print of the Structa prototype. First time I'd ever had something 3D printed, and I was pretty thrilled it actually came out wearable as a normal pair of glasses. Sent it off hoping the jury at the Sergio Cereda Design Award would like it. Had no idea yet that it would end up a top 10 finalist.

Making of a Silver Belt

I'd wanted to make my own belt buckle for a long time. Being home at the family smithy finally gave me the time to actually sit down and do it. The idea was something minimal but geometric: two bars, one of them tipping downward, like a clock hand that's fallen out of position. Something a bit strange, in a good way. Fitted and soldered the bars, then filed and polished until it went mirror-bright.

Ring, Made for a Friend

A friend of mine commissioned a ring and gave me free rein on the design. Went geometric again, this time built up piece by piece, as you can see in the assembly shots. Happy with how it turned out, and even happier it landed well with him.

Silver Ring: A Geometric Take on the Northern Lights

Another one made at Juhls', this time a ring. I wanted to translate the Northern Lights into something geometric instead of literal: a row of silver bars, each a slightly different height, like one frozen moment of the lights shifting across the sky. Simple to describe, a lot fussier to actually get soldered straight and even.

Making Guksi: From Burl to Cup

I started by trying out the shape in foam before finally starting on the actual wood version. The process included a wooden lathe, hand-carving, sawing of recycled silver and reindeer horn, and sanding, a lot of sanding, hehe. All in all, a fun project.
